We have a calendar of vacation days. Everyone should sign up to do at least two events during the whole year, because we supply 24/7/365 support. I signed up for Jan 1st, and another day close by, so I could have the rest of the year free.
But, after seeing a bunch of email stating that I will be doing some work on my OFF-DAY, it quietly came to me that had signed up to work Monday, Memorial day.
So, instead of kicking back, I have to work. Hopefully it won't be that bad - I can at least work from home.
The bad thing for me, also, working the weekend shift keeps me from most of the vacation days anyway.
