Ok, so I don't know how to post like Pretty Girl 2, but here is a try.

We had a tree surrounded by new brick.  The purple zenias that were there ran their course, so I decided to replant and clean the area up.

Down to Lowes - just because it was closer, and picked up some cheap plants and soil. 

While I worked in the pit, I let the plants get a nice drench in the grass sprinklers.

Dug up all the rocks and left over cement in the dirt pit and smooth the soil.

I then took one bag of soil and one bag of food, and mixed them in with the loose soil already in the hole.

I spread it all over neatly, and then dug the holes for the plants - there are seven.

Stepped on the dirt to pack it down a bit - left the plant labels in the ground also.  Swept up and watered.

You'll see that the irrigation kicked in - just at the right moment (unplanned).
