My son from Houston came to visit on last Sunday.  Picked him up at the airport here in Phoenix.  Was supposed to get him at 10am, but something happened to the plane in Houston, and he was delayed two hours - yikes.  Stayed around the airport for two extra hours waiting.

He finally showed up - funny his plane and another plane from Houston arrived at the same time, his gate 6B the other gate 6A.  Funny cause they were following each other in the air - pilot could probably see the plane in front.

Asked him what he wanted to eat, and he said Red Lobster.  So, I dropped $75 at RL - good, but damn expensive.  We spent Monday at my home, and then we drove to San Diego, CA - 6 hour drive (plus with kids).

We all went to LegoLand on Wednesday, picked up grand parents at the San Diego Airport that night - they didn't want to drive.  On Thursday, we went to Seaworld, and on Friday we went to Wildlife Zoo.  Back to the airport to drop off grand parents.  Then, back on the road to Phoenix - another 6 hours plus.

Stopped in El Centro at a Italian restaurant, and then drove into the driveway close to midnight.

Done a lot of stuff - during a vacation - but, NOT a vacation.  A vacation for me would be a cruise - like this one.
